Mogadishu (RBC) Famous Somali artist woman Hiba Mohamed Guddon (better known as Hiba Nura) has landed at Mogadishu airport on Tuesday making her first return to the home country fore than two decades, RBC Radio reports.
She was warmly received by Benadir regional administration officials, Members of the Federal Parliament of Somalia and members of the national artists and the music band.
The spokesman of the Benadir regional administration Mohamed Yusuf said the visit by Hiba Nura to Mogadishu shows a sign of peace.
“Mogadishu people are happy to welcome Hiba Nura who decided to visit her home town since 1990 when the civil wars broke in Mogadishu.” Mr Yusuf said.
Speaking to crowds and the media after she was welcomed, Hiba Nura said that she was very excited to return back home after long absence.
She hoped a peace and stability to maintain the country.
Several Somali artists living in abroad have started to return back in the past months following returning of peace to the country’s capital.
