Mogadishu (RBC) A Somali traditional elder was shot and killed in Baydhaba town on Tuesday night, eyewitnesses said.
The elder Yusuf Ali Sheikh was shot and killed in front of his home in Baydhaba town on Tuesday evening as the killers soon escaped from the area with none of them captured.
An eyewitness who spoke with anonymity condition said two unidentified men armed with pistols shot and killed the elder.
The motive of the killing the elder was unclear immediately despite previous killings were targeted against elders and other valuable members of the society.
The police in the town cordoned this morning the village where the assassination took place and started for searching out the perpetrators.
The situation of Baydhaba has been calm as the government forces earlier launched several security operation in the town.
