Mandhera (RBC) Somali ethnic population in Mandhera have strongly deplored the killing of two Somali clerics by the Kenyan police on Sunday night in the town of Mandhera.
The killing of the pair was claimed by the Kenyan police officer Michael Tialal in Mandhera who said the police shot and killed the two men because of they were suspect to be assisting Al Shabab group.
According to clerics in Mandhera, the two men were shot and killed as they were returning from their daily breaching activities in Mandhera.
On Monday thousands of Muslims gathered to mourn for the two clerics as they were buried i the Muslims graveyard in Mandhera.
Also the Muslims Council in Kenya condemned the killing and denied reports from the police which said they have found 11 grenades from the car in which the two murdered clerics were traveling.
The Sunday’s shooting came as the Kenyan police repeatedly maintained its crackdown activities on the Muslim communities in Kenya and the Somali ethnics in particular.
