Heraale(RBC Radio) Two children a reported dead and 3 others injured after an explosive went off in Heraale, Galgadud region, it is reported that the children were in Quranic school when one of them unfortunately hit the explosive device which went off causing instant death of two of children and injuring 3 others.
Explosives are scattered everywhere in the war torn Somali country and most of the time causing death of young children who can’t differentiate between explosive devices and toys.
Two of the injured children who were severely injured were taken to the district hospital in Galga’ayo , the headquarter s of Mudug region for treatment.
“The incident happened late yesterday evening and caused a lot of problems to the young children, incidences like this have recurred several times in Heraale area because explosives are everywhere in the region causing death of residents each time an explosive goes off”, said area commissioner for Heraale Bashir Dahir Yussuf said.
Mr.Bashir appealed to the government of Somalia and also NGOs from the international community who are specialized in explosives to do a complete search for explosives which he said were buried in the ground all over the region at the fight between Somalia and Ethiopia.
