Mogadishu (RBC) The cabinet of ministers of Somalia today discussed the ongoing clan based conflicts in Somalia’s Lower Shabelle and Middle Shabelle regions, RBC Radio reports.
The Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon has chaired the cabinet meeting today as government ministers who were on reconciliation visit to the regions briefed the cabinet in its ordinary meeting.
“I am extremely shocked on the recurring clashes between Somalis. It is not the time we should loose our people on fighting.” the Prime Minister said in a statement released later today.
Meanwhile the Prime Minister’s statement warned the media against maximizing the clan based clashes in Somalia as he urged instead the media should cover peace and development at large scale.
Speaking on Sunday’s suicide attack which killed more than 20 people in central Somalia, the Prime Minister sent a condolence message to the people of Djibouti as one Djibouti peace keeper was killed in the attack.
