Mogadishu (RBC) Unidentified assailants have shot and killed Member of the Federal Parliament of Somalia shortly after he has left a local university in the capital, RBC Radio reports.
According to local sources, MP Hussien Abdisalam Mohamed was shot and killed by the gun men who blocked off the road in front of him while driving his car and heading home near the Buulo Xubey market of Mogadishu Wadajir neighborhood.
“The gun men were driving a TOYOTA Surf vehicle and they drove straight to the car which the MP was driving and soon they begun shooting MP Hussein.” A fellow legislator Cadil Shegow said.
Late Mohamed was returning from Mogadishu University where he was sitting his final semester of the economics faculty.
“He was driving his car to home and several of his friends were onboard with him.” MP Shegow said.
MP Hussien Abdisalam Mohamed was known as quite speaking person.
“He did not like taking body guards with him because he believed that only Allah has the power to kill him.” one of his friends told local media.
There were no immediate comment from the security officials if the government.
No group claimed the assassination.
