Dubai (RBC) The president of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has on Tuesday night reached Dubai, UAE to attend the International Counter Piracy Conference today, RBC Radio reports.
The yearly international conference will take place in Dubai between 11 -12 September as the head of the governments and international organizations will speak on the developments made towards the disruption of piracy activities across the Somali coast.
President Mohamud who on Tuesday 10th September celebrated his first year in office will be addressing the international conference as he will call full support to the Somali National Army.
“We believe that establishing a staring Somali Army will be the only best mechanism to eradicate piracy.” Somali President earlier said.
According to recent reports by the international maritime networks, the number of the attacks of the Somali pirates have dramatically reduced due to international and local efforts to tackle piracy in Somalia.
