Mogadishu (RBC) Somali president Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his top security officials reached on Sunday Beledweyn town, the capital of Hiiraan, a central region.
The visit came after president Mohamud on Sunday canceled another visit to Jowhar ton, 90-km north of the country’s capital.
“My visit here is part of the wider government outreach program, and we will listen to the people.” The President told the people in Beledweyn late on Sunday.
He was accompanied by the deputy minister of the interior and national security, the police commissioner and the national security chief.
Thousands of people waving the flag of the nation and the portrait of the president have been standing the roadsides to welcome the president with heavily tightened security.
According to the presidential press officers the president will hold meeting with the regional administration, security officials, AMISOM command officials and the local elders.
