Mogadishu (RBC) The president of the federal government of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has promised that his government will fully implement all of the recommendations from the national conference on the country’s political future that was kicked off in the capital on Friday, RBC Radio reports.
President Mohamud said despite many challenges, his leadership is committed to carry out a national election in the year 2016 for the first time in Somalia since 1960.
“We are very worried on our capacity and competence towards leading the country as the appropriate way that the Somali wish for that reason we have called on this national conference.” the president said at his speech at the last day of the five days national conference.
The conference which took the theme of “Vision 2016 National Conference” has brought a large document with many recommendations.
The five days national conference called for constitutional development and review, establishing national commission to find out options on models of Federalism in Somalia, political outreach, establishing national reconciliation and forming national parties.
“We fully welcome and committed to implement all the recommendations that were suggested by you.” the president told mlre than 200 participants of the national conference from the local adminittations and the diaspora communities.
