Mogadishu (RBC) Somalia’s militant group, Al Shabab has on Friday said its twitter account was suspended again eight months after its previous account was suspended.
In a short message from he group’s media arm said that early on Friday morning around 3:00 AM its account was shut down.
“From now on there is no any twitter account attributable to Al Shabab.” the message posted on pro-Al Shabab websites said.
Al Shabab Strongly condemned the suspension against its twitter account, claiming that it was against the free speech.
On January the Twitter Company has suspended Al Shabab’s first twitter account HSMPRESS after it has published photos from a dead french soldier who was killed during a secret operation in Bulo Marer town, southern Somalia region while trying to free a French hostage.
Al Shabab has then used another twitter account with the name HSMPRESS1 which it used to publicize its war with the federal government of Somali and the African Union Mission.
