Mogadishu (RBC) Representatives from government, the parliament, members of the civil society, scholars and politicians attending the national conference on Somalia political future have commenced on Tuesday first day discussions on five main topics.
The five days conference has been officially on Monday by the federal president of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud who expressed his views towards the national gathering.
“The government wishes to listen to the people and consider the suggestions from this conference in order to go forward into state building and the transformation clan MPs into elected MPs.” President Mohamud told more than two hundred participants on Monday as the conference was officially opened.
Today the participants divided themselves into five main sub-committees to discuss and draft their recommendations on the main five topics of the conference which include; the federalism, good governance, elections and political parties.
The participants will also discuss and suggest their ideas towards transforming the country from selection government officials into one man one vote process.
