SOMALIA: Improving Mogadishu health services discussed

nalalka xamarMogadishu (RBC) A very large consultative meeting on improving the health services of Somalia capital was held at the mayor’s office on Saturday.

The meeting attended by members of the parliament, local administrations, health officers and regional officials was discussed in ways to improve and attain a full and qualified health service to the people living in the capital and its suburbs.

MP Mohamed Faisal of a Somali parliamentary sub-committee of social services said the meeting aimed to listen the views from the mayor and other regional officials in order the parliament members to bring
those view back to the parliament.

Deputy Governor of Benadir regional administration Ali Ahmed Gure described the meeting as first in its kind as he hailed such initiative to address the basic needs f the society after more than decades of lacking any social services.

The meeting was then wrapped in a speech from the deputy minister for social services development of the federal government whereby he voiced strongly that the government has and will coordinate the locals in any possible ways to upgrade the services now provided and also seek better social services including education, health and security.
