MOGADISHU (RBC) The main roads of Somalia capital, Mogadishu were blocked for second time in two weeks following a deadly suicide car bomb in the capital on Sunday, RBC Rado reports.
Early on Monday Hundreds of security forces were deployed into the roads including the main road that links the airport and the presidential compound. Many of the government offices and main hotel were also cordoned with heavy police presence.
RBC Radio reporter says only government officials and military vehicles were allowed to move freely while the public buses were stopped from using the blocked roads.
The interior minister and the police officials did not comment on the motive behind police deployment.
The move came a day after a suicide car bomber killed at least 11 people and wounded at KM4 junction on Sunday morning. Government security vowed tight security following yesterday’s attacks.
