MOGADISHU (RBC) As Somalia government security forces continue to block the main roads in the capital, Mogadishu for the fifth day, the drivers of local buses complain over losing their business, RBC Radio reports.
“We are drivers, we are not the owners.” one driver called Ali Abdow said “If my employer does not get $40 per day from the bus, he has to fire me, and I will loose my job.”
Like Abdow, many bus drivers are facing hard days since Tuesday when the security forces blocked the city’s main roads for security reasons as heavy operation continued since than.
“Every night, my employer counts the money I got that day, and then he pays me my daily wages, but I do not reach the maximum amount he prescribed me, then I have to leave and he will call another driver.” Abdow added.
Hundreds of Somalia government security forces were deployed into the city’s main roads blocking the movement of the vehicles including the public buses which led thousands on people to use their feet to reach universities or business places in the capital.
The national security and interior minister Abdikarim Hussein Guled said the operations aimed to prevent possible terrorist attacks in the capital.
