Garowe (RBC) The president of Somalia Federal Government Hassan Sheikh Mohamud landed on Sunday morning in Garowe town, the capital of northeastern Somalia’s semi-autonomous region of Puntland making the first visit to the region since he took office, RBC Radio reports.
The president accompanied by the finance and planning minister, the interior minister as well as presidential directors has reached Garowe town around 9:30 early on Sunday morning, where he was received by the Puntland president Abdirahman Mohamed Faroole and senior regional officials.
According to the president’s press office the visit will take one day and will be aimed cooperation of security, development and various issues concerning the country’s politics.
The talks between Somalia president and Puntland administration officials in Garowe will also address Jubbaland Conference going in Kismaayo town, which the Federal Government labelled as “unconstitutional”. Puntland is described as biggest lobbying state for the formation of new Jubbaland administration.
