Hargeysa (RBC) At least eight people have been confirmed dead and seven others were injured after three cars collided between Hargeysa, the capital of Somaliland administration and Gebilay town, Somalia’s northwestern region on Wednesday, RBC Radio reports.
According to local officials the accident took place late on Wednesday near Arabsiyo village after two speedy cars collided with a lorry traveling between Hargeysa and Gebilay. The accident reasoned one of the cars carrying five people to skid off the road.
The bodies of the eight dead people included three women and three children, a nurse at Hargeysa hospital told RBC Radio. The other seven injured people were hospitalized and with two in critical condition reported.
Police officials and the Gebilay district commissioner reached the scene and begun investigating the reason of the accident.
