Mogadishu (RBC News) The interior and national security minister Mr. Abdulkarim Hussein Guuleed is questioned today by members of the parliament after he was summoned earlier to answer questions relating to internal security and recent incident of killing prisoners awaiting trials in Mogadishu jails.
The MPs asked the minister about 10 queries which some of them were really tough and the minister acknowledged that it’s constitutional right for the MPs to hold accountable the government for its actions.
In his response to a question relating to prisoners taken out of the prison and found dead in front of the houses of the victim’s relatives by the following morning, the minister said “ when we interrogated the national intelligence and security agency about this incident they told us that it was the night of March 12th when two members of Alshabab that were under their custody told them that they knew a place where undercover Alshabab elements have buried weapons and they took them to the area but on their arrival at the scene they came under attack and the two men got dead in the crossfire” he added that the whole thing “seemed like a plot”
The minister also stated that one of the two slain captives was commander of Alshabab wing responsible for organized killing in Mogadishu while the other one was responsible for terrorism activities in Banadir and the two Shabeles.
