Mogadishu (RBC) The Mubarak Foam Factory, one of largest foam production factories in Somalia capital, Mogadishu has burnt down on Saturday midnight after sudden fire erupts inside the factory, owner said.
Stories of outproduced foam, unnumbered ready mattress, sofas and other valuable equipment including electric and production machines went up with flames that started at around 12:00 midnight on Saturday.
“There are no human casualties, but I can confirm that we have lost a large bulk of property.” Mahad Abdukadir, the factories CEO told local media on Sunday morning. “The building of the factory was also severely damaged”.
The cause of the fire was not immediately identified, according to the officials.
Due to lack of professional firefight system in Mogadishu the rescue operation lasted for more than six hours which led to rescuers could not prevent the spread of the fire into the whole building.
Mubarak foam factory is a private industry established by local businessmen in the capital of Somalia.
