Mogadishu (RBC News) The Arab republic of Yemen agreed to the cancellation of tax debts owed by Somalia for ships docking its coast. Yemeni president made the announcement on Tuesday this week.
Abdurrabuh Mansur Hadi’s announcement comes after meeting with Somali foreign minister’s secretary Mohammed Nor Ga’al who delivered a letter from Somali president Hassan Sheik to Yemeni president Abdurrabuh Mansur as Yemeni media outlets reported.
Somali’s commercial ships have been docking in Yemen coast more than 20 years now. The writing off of tax debts owed by Somalia paves the way for their recollection.
Yemen is also hosting a large number of Somali refugees who fled the country during decades long of unrest, drought and famine.
