Mogadishu (RBC News) A meeting organized by the US government which was aimed at addressing illegal immigrants and from Somalia using the Redsea route to Yemen and suppressing terror groups in the two countries (Yemen and Somalia) has not gone as planned. The conference was to start off at Sana’a the capital city of Yemen but it didn’t happen as media outlets report Somalia government withdrew from the meeting.
Somali delegates that took part in the meeting were led by foreign secretary of state Mr. Mohamed Nur Ga’al. There were representatives from Djibouti, Yemen and the United States of America who took part in the meeting. The foreign secretary of state for Somalia who leading the Somali delegation said that they appreciate that are invited to the meeting but were not satisfied with the way it was orchestrated as they were not offered a chance to give their input adding that previous promises were not fulfilled.
The representatives from the other three countries taking part in the meeting are now endeavouring to persuade representatives from Somalia to return to the meeting. However as some reports are suggesting the Somali delegation is expected to return to their country later today.
