Mogadishu (RBC Radio) President of the republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has today paid a visit to some of the most important army barracks inside Mogadishu among them being the biggest barrack of the Somali army Villa-Baidabo, he also visited the offices of the ministry of defense.
The president held meetings with top army officials at Villa-Baidabo and after those meetings he before giving a long speech touching on different issues to the army men of the Somalia force.
Key among the issues in the presidents speech was about the sensitive rumor circulating that, the army has forgotten its duty of protecting the dignity and the life of the Somali people and in turn it became a monster in the face of the citizens, the rumor has it that the army kills and loot properties from its own citizen, the president urged the army men to prove to the Somali people, “they are not what they think the army is” and to bring back the respect and dignity that is known to the Somali army.
Speaking to the top officials of the army, president Hassan asked them to maintain the army in a proper manner and to stop any misconduct that alter the name of the Somali force.
