MOGADISHU (RBC Radio) “The exit of the Ethiopian forces is a big blow and a step back words in the fight against al-shabaab who are the biggest enemy of the Somali government”, said the Former minister of defence in the Somali federal government under the Sh. Sharif regime Hussein Arab Isse.
Mr. Hussein added that it was not time for them {Ethiopians} to leave the country terming it as “unnecessary move”, he appealed to the government of Ethiopia not to go on with their plan of evacuating their army from all the areas that they occupy, requesting them not to evacuate those areas until the amisom force send their troops to those particular regions.
The former minister of defence who is now chairman of the committee of defence for the Somali parliament also added that in case the Ethiopians evacuate the regions of Bay and Bakool, chances that al-shabaab will take full control of the regions are very high just like what happened in Hudur.
According to the minister, a parliamentary committee has been appointed to investigate the reason as to why the Ethiopian troops have evacuated unexpectedly from Hudur region adding that in the coming days there will be a visit of Baidabo by the chairman of the Somali parliament in order to look into the reason that brought about the evacuation.
