Clik here to view.Mogadishu (RBC) The President of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has reached Jowhar town, which is 90 km north of the capital, Mogadishu in the midst of local tour to reach the country’s regions, RBC Radio reports.
After concluding his 24 hours visit to Beledweyn town, in the central of the country, President Mohamud went to Jowhar town where he has been cordially welcomed by thousands of women and men standing on street sides and waving his portrait and the flag of the nation.
The president accompanied by the national security chief and the police commissioner has shortly stooped at Balcad town where he gave a speech to local people, before going through Jowhar town.
Security has been extremely tightened with hundreds of armed forces backed by the African Union Peacekeepers deployed into the main roads that link between Mogadishu and Jowhar.
According to the presidential spokesman President Mohamud is expected to hold meeting with the regional administration and as he will also observe the livelihood of the locals who have been recently affected by flash floods from the Shabelle region.
