Mogadishu (RBC) Deputy Chairman of the sub-committee of the national security and interior of the federal parliament of Somalia Dahir Amin Jesow has alleged the federal government for hand picking specific individuals selected by the presidential office and the cabinet to attend the upcoming Somalia New Deal Conference in Brussels on September 16th, RBC Radio reports.
“We are very worried that the president’s office is intervening the work of the federal parliament.” MP Dahir Amin Jesow said.
“We have heard that the presidential office staff and the cabinet are selecting some members of the parliament as a hand picking manner.” the MP said.
MP Jesow said it was unfortunate that the government is inviting its favorable group in the parliament to attend the EU event in Brussels instead of inviting the members of the parliament’s foreign relations committee.
On his side MP Jesow welcomed the role by the international community to support Somalia’s state-building program while he also called fir the current cabinet of ministers to be competent for the hard work ahead for recovering the war-torn nation from the dark-road to the development road.
On September 16th the European Union will be hosting a high level conference for the Somalia New Deal which will be a new way for supporting the horn of African nation.
