Kismayo (RBC) A bomb explosion has killed Abdukadir Haji Ahmed, a well known Somali clan elder in the port town of Kismayo on Friday, RBC Radio reports.
According to eyewitnesses the bomb went off when the car on which the elder was driving stepped up on the landmine near the Former Meat Factory in Kismayo.
Two security guards were also killed in the bomb blast.
The blast occurred just before the people in Kismayo went to the mosques for the Friday prayers, as today is off day in all Muslim world.
No group claimed the responsibility of the attack and the Kismayo administration officials could not be immediately reached for comment.
