The remuneration package which included cash hand outs to members of servicemen is the first of its kind to have ever been carried out by the new government.
It’s a natural phenomenon for Somali armed forces to work without salaries for months and this have had always its repercussions on their efficiency.
Military analysts have always related the army’s poor performance in the battlefield to their lack of enough salary provision.
