Garowe (RBC News) President of Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheik Mohammed is on his second day tour to Garawe today. The president is engaged in talks which took several hours with Puntland president Mr Abdurrahman Faroole.
Despite expectations that the talks would end shortly, it’s now reported that there are issues which have not yet been finalized and therefore negotiations may take longer than expected.
Sources are confirming that Mr Faroole and Mr Hassan Sheik are engaged in bilateral talks and discussing two burning issues which are the role of Puntland in the upcoming London conference and establishing regional administrations for the country.
According to the sources, these two issues have been raised by Puntland President Mr Abdurrahman Faroole during a banquet he held for President Hassan Sheik last night.
Puntland minister for information, Mr Mohamud Aidid Dirir told reporters that the discussion points will include the completion of the draft charter and cooperation in the areas of economy and grants that the government receives from the international community.
It’s expected that both parties will release a communique on their talks this afternoon and then President Hassan Sheik’s delegation will leave for Mogadishu.
