Former prime minister of transitional federal government of Somalia, Omar Abdurrahid Sharmarke
Kismayo (RBC News) The former prime minister of transitional federal government of Somalia, Omar Abdurrahid Sharmarke who is currently a member of Jubbaland conference organizing committee has called on Jubbaland presidential candidates to compromise for each other.
Speaking in a press conference he held in Kismayo Mr. Abdurrashid stated that if the candidates did not concede that it will cause to the whole process to collapse and that he said will lead to the federal government to assume the conference.
Mr. Abdurrashid’s remarks come amid growing number of candidates vying for the top job of Jubbaland, the presidency. Female candidates have recently joined the race for the presidency.
Contenders have already launched the campaign for the election; however it’s too early to predict who might win in this highly contested election as there is no opinion have been done so far.
According reports reaching RBC radio the conferenc is due to be finished within this week with the presidential elections taking place either this Monday or Wednesday.
