Garowe (RBC News) Puntland president Dr. Abdurrahman Sh. Mohammad Faroole met last night with the United Nations’ newly appointed humanitarian envoy to Somalia Mr. Philippe Lazzarini
Representatives from UNDP and UNOCHA were also present at the meeting. Other authorities from Puntland including the vice-president and some members of the cabinet had also attended the meeting.
It’s said that the reason of Mr. Philippe Lazzarini visit was to oversee different projects undertaken by the UN in Puntland.
The UN delegation had paid visit to centres constructed by the UN themselves previously and others which their construction is underway and also oversaw the situation of IDPs living in Garowe.
The delegates were offered a banquet last night by the president of Puntland after they had finished their meeting.
