aMogadishu (RBC) Somali Member of Parliament was killed after a bomb planted in his car exploded outside the Villa Somalia Presidential Palace in Mogadishu on Friday, RBC Radio reports.
MP Mohamed Warsame Mohamed better known “Feysal” was killed in what seemed as assassination attempted to kill him shortly after he has left the office of Prime Minister Abdi Farah Shirdon around 2.00 pm local time.
According to fellow parliamentarian, MP Feysal has died at the spot where his car exploded outside the Presidential Compound.
It was not immediately clear the motive of the planned assassination as the police did not give any comment on the blast.
Late Lawmaker Feysal has been on the forefront in a number of Somali lawmakers who have defended the cabinet and the Prime Minister following a hot impeachment motion against the cabinet. He was among 65 MPs who voted in favor of the cabinet but lost in their vote on December 2nd.
