MOGADISHU (RBC) Somalia Police Forces together with the African Union Mission troops continue search operation in Somalia capital, Mogadishu arresting more than hundred of suspected Al Shabab members, RBC Radio reports.
The operation started at around 9.00 pm local time on Saturday night continued until in the morning after the police intelligence received information claiming that some Al Shabab members were hiding in Mogadishu’s Wadajir neighborhood.
More than hundred teenagers were arrested, and according to police spokesman the arrested people included some Al Shabab suspects.
“We are classifying the arrested persons and those who were not found anything will be released soon.” Gen Abdullahi Bariise said on Sunday.
During the search operation at Buulo Xuubey village on the Wadajir neighborhood, the police stormed the premises of local radio station Goal FM, but they did not arrest anyone from the radio staff members.
Some Residents of Wadajir district complained that their boys were captured by the police without any cause as they called the government officials to release them soon.
