GALKACYO (RBC) Galkacyo mayor Ahmed Ali Salad has called residents of Galkacyo to help improve the appearance and the sanitation of the town following torrential rains that scattered waste waters in to the city centre, RBC Radio reports.
At press conference today, the mayor of Galkacyo asked the business people to participate clearing the town from waste waters brought by the rains.
“I also call the business people to contribute building ten water drainages and access to the overflow of future rain waters that my jeopardize Galkacyo sanitation.” Mayor salad asked.
The mayor also stressed the need for a firefight system since the town, which is home to thousands of displaced people and experienced for years recurring burning of houses.
“In ordered our city to be well protected we should have a firefighter vehicle to prevent burning of houses and that is what I told government officials when I visited Garowe.” he added.
In his press conference, the mayor of Galkacyo also commended the dramatic improve towards the city’s security condition after constant assassinations and explosions that ravaged the town.
